Carlos Franco —
Google Ads Management for Small Business

South Florida-based PPC consultancy. Hands-on management of Search, Performance Max, and Display campaigns for retail and service businesses since 2024.

What I Do

I run paid search and paid social for small and family-owned businesses in South Florida. The focus is on accounts where the operator is too busy to manage their own bidding day-to-day but knows enough about their business to want a hands-on consultant rather than a hands-off agency retainer.

Core Services

Daily Management

Hands-on adjustment of bid strategies, budget allocation, search-term reviews, and responsive ad copy iteration.

Quality Score Remediation

Diagnosis of ad relevance and landing page experience, themed RSA builds, and comprehensive landing page audits.

Performance Max Tuning

Audience signal tuning, asset group structure design, and deep alignment with client business conversion goals.

Conversion Tracking

Set up of Get Directions, store visits, call tracking via CallRail Dynamic Number Insertion (DNI), and offline-conversion uploads.

Audits and Triage

Diagnostic reviews for accounts losing impression share due to budget constraints versus quality rank issues.

Channels & Platforms

  • Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Display, Shopping)
  • Meta Ads (Facebook, Instagram — awareness and traffic objectives)
  • Google Tag Manager + CallRail integrations

Verticals Served

Current and recent active accounts cover three key South Florida verticals:

Precious-Metals Retail

High-volume local search, walk-in retail conversion paths, Google Maps "Get Directions" as primary conversion actions, Spanish-language sub-campaigns.

High-Security Vault Custody

High-intent, thin-niche safe deposit box search. Premium CPC campaigns with the primary conversion funnel focused on booked private facility tours.

Private Bullion Dealers

High-net-worth audience targeting gold/silver bullion and pre-1933 numismatics. Longer consideration window requiring custom audience targeting.

Manager Account Structure: All three active accounts are managed centrally under a single Google Ads Manager (MCC) account, consolidating operations and campaign structures.

Tools & Approach

I am building and operating a specialized desktop PPC management tool — informally called the PPC Hub — that consolidates daily client workflows across multiple advertising platforms:

  • Daily performance pulls from Google Ads and Meta Ads into a unified dashboard, showing cross-account totals and per-campaign triage alerts.
  • Quality Score tracking to log daily Optimization Score pulses and monitor keyword-level components (Expected CTR, Ad Relevance, and Landing Page Experience).
  • Impression Share diagnostics showing automated reports on lost Impression Share (IS) due to budget versus rank, driving data-informed reallocations.
  • Bulk operations allowing Responsive Search Ad builds across multiple ad groups via Google Ads Editor CSV imports, and audience swaps via the Meta Marketing API.
  • Walk-in attribution loop via eventual offline-conversions API uploads to feed actual transaction data back into Google's Smart Bidding models.

Note: The tool is built specifically for my own client account management workflow; it is not currently a commercial product.

Why I Need Google Ads API Standard Access

Currently operating under Explorer Access, which limits API operations to test accounts. Daily reads on production accounts presently flow through Google Ads Editor and browser automation. This is workable but highly inefficient for active production accounts with 22 campaigns, ~600+ keywords, and daily updates.

Standard Access Capabilities

  • Programmatic Daily Performance Pulls: Automating collection of Cost, Impressions, Clicks, Impression Share, and Conversions per campaign and per keyword, eliminating browser-automation overhead.
  • Programmatic Quality Score Reads: Building systematic QS remediation tracking over the entire keyword inventory.
  • Diagnostic Bid Strategies: Enabling automated warnings and rapid programmatic bid strategy shifts during account triage (e.g. switching a strangled Target CPA campaign to Maximize Clicks).
  • Offline Conversion Uploads: Accessing the Data Manager ingestEvents endpoint to feed walk-in transaction data back to Smart Bidding to optimize against actual purchase value.
  • Performance Max Management: Gaining programmatic control over PMax asset groups and audience signals.

Volume Profile

~3 customer accounts under one MCC. Operations consist of daily reads and occasional weekly bulk writes (RSA builds, budget shifts). Expected operation counts are well within Standard Access limits.

Compliance & Privacy

Read-only daily monitoring. Mutate operations require explicit approval in the tool's UI. Client data stays local on the operator's machine. PII is SHA-256 hashed client-side before transmission.
